Outdoor Pool - Our swimming pool is a highlight of our school's facilities, offering ākonga the perfect space to enjoy water activities during the summer terms. Whether it is for swimming lessons, or leisurely swims during lunch times, the pool provides a refreshing way to stay active and healthy. It is an ideal setting for both relaxation and physical fitness. Safe, well-maintained, and accessible, our outdoor swimming pool is a favourite spot for ākonga to cool off and have fun during the warmer months. Our swimming lessons take place in Term 1 and Term 4 while we have the warmth of summer to heat the pool.
Covered deck - Running across the length of our classroom block, our covered deck space offers a versatile outdoor play area that can be enjoyed rain or shine. Perfect for wet weather, this sheltered area allows ākonga to stay active and engaged, even when the elements are not in their favour. With plenty of room for games, creative activities, or simply relaxing with friends, the covered deck is an extension of our commitment to providing a dynamic and fun environment for all our ākonga. It is the perfect space to enjoy the outdoors while staying dry and comfortable.
Sensory garden - Our sensory garden is currently under construction, with our ākonga playing a key role in its design and development. Once complete, this space will be a vibrant and calming environment, thoughtfully crafted to engage all the senses. From fragrant flowers and textured plants to soothing sounds and vibrant colours, the garden will offer a peaceful retreat for ākonga to explore and connect with nature. This hands-on project is a wonderful opportunity for ākonga to collaborate and create a space that will serve as both a place for relaxation and sensory exploration. We can not wait to see it come to life!
Playground - Our school playground is currently under construction, with plans for an updated, modern space that will inspire play, creativity, and physical activity for all students. We are working hard to create a safe and engaging environment with new play structures. While the work is ongoing, we appreciate your patience and are eager to unveil the finished playground, which will be a fantastic addition to our school.
Bike Track - Our school's bike track, funded by the generous support of the Duddings Trust, was completed in 2021, providing students with a safe, exciting space to develop their cycling skills. The track offers a unique outdoor learning environment, promoting physical activity, teamwork, and a love for cycling. The track is a fantastic addition to our school facilities.
Library and Library Bus -Our school is happy to provide a stocked library that offers a wide range of books and resources that inspire a love of reading, and support our tamariki in their learning. Our ākonga go into the library space once a week to choose their reading material. Alongside our library, we have fortnightly visits from the Library Bus, who bring us more books and resources every trip directly to our kura. These visits allow our ākonga the chance to explore new titles and genres and further develop their reading skills in an ever changing way. This is just one of the many ways we foster a passion for reading within our kura.
